Dr. Fridley’s Bio:

Get to know General and Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Donald Fridley, who serves patients in the greater Tampa Bay area, Florida.

A highly trained Robotic general and bariatric surgeon, Dr. Fridley is the proud Owner of Surgical Associates of Bayonet Point, located in Hudson, Florida. He is committed to providing compassionate care for his patients by performing a wide range of general surgery treatments. Dr. Fridley specializes in weight loss options (surgical and non- surgical) through minimally invasive techniques. He is also on staff at the University of South Florida teaching surgical residents, as well as teaching P.A. students from Gannon University.

Born in Augsburg, Germany in a military family, he was raised throughout Europe and the United States. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Florida and graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his fellowship in bariatric and robotic surgery at the Reading Hospital. Dr. Fridley trained at the world-renowned Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, DR. Fridley is board-certified in bariatric surgery and general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Fridley is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS), and the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons (FASMBS).

In order to remain current with the latest in his field, he is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association. As well as serving on surgical quality board for multiple facilities. Dr. Fridley is the Bariatric Director for two neighboring hospitals in the region.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix, and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Fridley has been the recipient of the Award of Academic Excellence (2010) and Defender of Freedom Award (2011) by the Army National Guard, With Gratitude For Your Support Award by the New Port Richey Library Centennial (2020), Certificate Of Accreditation by the MBSAQIP (2021), Awarded Top Doc (2022), Sponsor Walk from Obesity Award by the ASMBS (2021). Dr. Loan Mai’s Bio

Dr. Loan Mai is a General and Bariatric Surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. She completed her General Surgery Residency training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She also had the privilege of being on the surgical oncology service and trained at the world renowned Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She completed her fellowship in Advanced GI/Robotic and Bariatric Surgery at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in New Jersey. She specializes in advanced endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of obesity.

She immigrated from Vietnam with her family after her father served in the Air Force. Dr. Mai appreciates the value of a healthy lifestyle which attracted her to metabolic medicine and bariatric surgery. She is dedicated in providing high-quality and compassionate care. She offers comprehensive weight loss options and understands that the disease of obesity and its chronicity may require a multitude of treatments including medical, endoscopic, and surgical. When she is not at work, Dr. Mai enjoys spending time with her spouse and dog, as well as hosting family dinners.

Elizabeth Caceres

Elizabeth Caceres, APRN, ACNPC-AG, MSN

Elizabeth is an Adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who graduated with her MSN, magna cum laude from Walden University, in the Sigma Theta Tau International honor society of nursing.  Before receiving her Nurse Practitioner’s degree, Elizabeth was an ICU nurse with ten years’ experience on the floor.  She was officially recognized by the CEO of Bayonet Point hospital for her “extraordinary compassion, commitment, and attention to detail”. She has had the privilege of working rotations in palliative care, general/bariatric surgery, hospital medicine, and ICU care.

Throughout her nursing career she took on leadership roles as a clinical nurse leader while working in the Intensive Care Unit. Liz was also a preceptor for newly onboarded nurses.

She is happily married with (soon) two children.  Committed to being a lifelong student but in her spare time enjoys family activities and hiking/biking and travel.

Macy Fridley Practice Manager

Macy originated from the operating room as a leader and preceptor in Robotic surgery. As the SABP Practice Manager she oversees and supervise a staff of six vibrant and passionate employees as well as rotating surgical residents, and P.A. students, to ensure our patients are getting the best possible experience from our patient centered practice/ award winning Weight Loss programs. Macy also creates and conducts all the marketing and social media content for Surgical Associates of Bayonet Point.

Macy is a mom of 3 happy healthy children. She has been married for 5 years to her best friend. They love making goals and watching them come to fruition.

Damian Bramer Nutritionist

Damian earned her bachelor’s in nutrition science from UC Davis, California and is a certified nutrition consultant. She provides nutrition guidance and education for people who suffer from a wide array of conditions such as autoimmune disease, degenerative diseases, mental illnesses, diabetes, cancer and most recently obesity. She has also provided support for specialty groups such as athletes, adolescents, and the elderly.

She believes the best way to maintain good health is to adopt eating and lifestyle habits that are sustainable for the long term. These habits should not only be manageable but enjoyable to you as well. They should support your individual energy requirement, optimize your digestive health, lower inflammation, and keep your blood sugar balanced.

Strengthening the body’s systems and improving the quality of life with whole foods nutrition is the common goal for all her patients.

Tamika was born in Florida and raised in Virginia. She came back to Florida in her early twenties. She went to Remington College to pursue her diploma in Medical Assisting. She graduated with honors in 2006 and became Certified later that year. She has been a Certified Medical Assistant for 17 years. Tamika loves to laugh you will hear her throughout our office. Her hobbies are reading, being by water and just enjoying life.

Marcia has been working for medical offices for the last 15 years. In addition to working with Doctors Marcia has significant experience in elementary education. Marcia has recently gone back to school to receive her certificate as a certified coder in medical billing.

Marcia has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She grew up in New Jersey and lived in Nashville for 8 years before moving to Florida 20 years ago.

Marcia enjoys spending her down time exploring Disney and watching her grandkids flourish.
